Women’s month is here, with Women’s Day being celebrated on the 9th of August. While most of us look forward to a day off (YAY), there is a meaningful reason we take the day to celebrate women. We pay homage to the bravery of 20 000 women who marched in 1956 to the Union building in protest of the laws. 65 years later, and women still embody the same strength, resilience, and determination – if not more. Decades later, and the future of South Africa is being built on the shoulders of courageous women.
As women, we wear many hats, from mother to sister, daughter, wife, friend, colleague, and career woman. We are elegant, bold, strong, confident, and wise. Women are the epitome of resilience.
